Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a project management role, either as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Field Engineer, and have worked in the heavy construction, bridge building, and or deep foundation improvement fields. Past involvement with large scale heavy construction projects, bridges, cranes, pile driving, deep foundations, ground improvements, stone columns, drilling, heavy erection, road building, and or steel fabrication is an asset. Hands on construction experience is also highly valued. A degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering from a Canadian program, or EIT/PEng status, is a requirement for this position.
Where applicable, applicants can expect to work with a Senior Project Manager gaining experience with all aspects of the job cycle, including client relations, estimating, bidding, contracts, schedules, budgets, QA/QC, safety, etc. They will also have the opportunity to solo estimate and manage suitably sized projects. In the end, our goal is to train up the successful applicant to be a full-fledged Project Manager within West Shore who is capable of independently bidding and running all types of projects. Our Project Managers are typically solo running a few projects at a time which means they are involved and overseeing the full project management cycle of a given project, get to see them from start to finish, and have good amount of variety.
Our modern office is located in North Vancouver and the majority of our projects are within the Greater Vancouver region. Project management staff work from our office and make site visits as needed. Qualifications:
- Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering Degree (Canadian) or EIT/PEng status.
- 2+ years experience in a project management role (PM, PC, or Field Engineer).
- 2+ years in construction, bridge building, deep foundation, and or ground improvement fields.
- Estimating experience is an asset.
- Contract experience is an asset.
- Budgeting and invoicing experience is an asset.
- QA/QC experience is an asset.
- Engineering design experience is an asset.
- Hands on construction experience is an asset.
Compensation:
Based on the experience level of the applicant. Above market for the heavy construction industry. We look to hire long term top tier people.
