Position Posting for Medical Radiologic Technologist - Permanent 1.0 FTE:
Work Site: Chinook Medical Imaging primary work sites to be Calgary (East Hills) and Chestermere, Alberta
Status: Permanent 1.0 FTE
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary & Benefits: Tech II HSAA commensurate to qualifications and years worked; extended health benefits after mandatory probation period; RSP matching after 1 year
Hours: 77.5 hours per pay period (schedule may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements)
Required: Applicants must demonstrate an ability and commitment to maintaining an acceptable level of absenteeism over an extended period of time as demonstrated by attendance awareness records.
Education/Certifications – Medical Radiologic Technologist:
o Current certification with the CAMRT and ACMDTT
o Successful candidate will be expected to perform mammography, ABUS, X-ray AND/OR Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) exams
o Current CPR
o Mammography I course is an asset – or to be obtained throughout employment. Previous Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) and BMD experience an asset but training will be provided if necessary
o 3-5 years clinical or hospital based experience is an asset
o Previous supervisory experience is an asset
Mandate and Achievements – Medical Radiologic Technologist:
o Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family-centred care model;
o Perform mammography, ABUS, X-ray and BMD examinations in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, observing safe protection practices;
o Comprehensive knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations;
o Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practice related to sonography examinations;
o Broad knowledge of PACS/radiology information systems, i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval;
o Your empathetic, patient and understanding disposition will put our patients at ease and reassure them that you will be able to guide them through their exam;
o Passion for putting our patients and referring clinicians first, ensuring they consistently receive an excellent level of service;
o Anticipate the needs of our patients and referring physicians, act as an ambassador for Chinook Medical Imaging and always want to go one step further to provide the best experience possible;
o Strong focus on maintaining patient confidentiality in regards to their illnesses, treatment, and diagnosis;
o Concerned about the physical appearance of our clinics and comfort of our patients, assisting with cleaning and maintaining exam rooms, washrooms, and/or offices, on a regular and recurring basis;
Expectations – Medical Radiologic Technologist:
o Ability to work at both our Calgary (East Hills) and Chestermere, Alberta clinic locations and occasionally travel to clinics in SW Alberta for training (if and when needed); vehicle and valid driver’s license is required;
