Transit Driver - Full Time
PWTransit is currently seeking a career-oriented full-time Conventional / Custom Transit Driver to join our team in Kitimat. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.
Class 2 license upgrade training offered to successful candidates who don't hold a class 1 or 2 license.
Position Requirements:
- A valid Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with air brakes preferred; license upgrade training offered for other license classes
- Driver’s abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
- Clear criminal record
- Must be organized, punctual and reliable
- Possess excellent driving skills and habits
- Ability to read maps and navigate
- Ability to communicate effectively
- A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
- Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary (transit service may operate 7 days per week, 17 hours per day)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
- Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
- Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
- Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
Additional Information:

- This position may require working shifts, including split shifts, as well as weekends and statutory holidays
- Selected applicants will be required to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks
