Summary:
The Low Bed Class 1 Driver is responsible for transporting large equipment safely to and from job sites.
Job Duties Responsibilities:
- Transport all equipment safely in a timely manner using a Class 1 low bed truck
- Load and secure heavy equipment onto the truck, including but not limited to operating and strapping down heavy equipment
- Perform all maintenance inspections on equipment, daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Keep daily driver logbook
- Communicate with office and site foreman
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by general clean-up of site and equipment
- Report any equipment hazards or issues
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license is required with a good driver’s abstract
- 2+ years low bed driving experience preferred
- Experience driving trucks with 7 axles or more is preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment is an asset
- Willing and able to work out-of-town/province as needed
- Willingness to learn
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; walking, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time
- Work in various weather conditions (hot/humid weather, rain, snow, winter, etc.)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills
- Safety-first attitude
- Provide: Hard hat, High Vis Vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots
