Sharp Trucking Services Ltd. Is looking for an exceptional 1 Ton Driver in Sparwood BC.
When performing duties as a Driver, you are responsible for safely driving a One Ton with or without a goose neck trailer potentially over long distances including off-road while obeying all regulations, bylaws and traffic laws.
- Driver will receive dispatched instructions and review them for accuracy and clarity, prior to leaving on a trip. Ensuring the accuracy of Bills of Lading (BoLs), permits, and any other details.
- Navigating safely on diverse and extreme road conditions to locations.
- Adhering to Sharp’s policies and procedures and all rules and regulations issued by federal and provincial governmental agencies including using ELogs.
- The driver must conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to note any problems with the equipment
- BOLs and Trip Envelopes immediately to Dispatch upon completion of trip.
- Piloting Work
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Class 1 but Class 3 perferred
- Clean Professional Driving Abstract
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with relevant governing legislation and regulatory standards (e.g., Highway Traffic Act, National Safety Code - Transport Canada, etc.).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical requirements
The strength and stamina required to operate a truck and trailer combination for extended periods of time, in severe weather conditions and challenging physical environments.
