The Spa Director is responsible to oversee the Pacific Mist Spa’s employees, services and finances. This individual must be skilled at bringing out the best in others, creating structure and organization without compromising on the details. The Spa Director owns all aspects of running the spa which includes business strategy, marketing, facility operations, revenue management, staff training and guest experience. This role collaborates with the Kingfisher Leadership Team.
CORE COMPETENCES
The Spa Director manages, supervises, and oversees all spa operations. It is their responsibility to ensure the achievement of sales goals, business objectives, and profitability. The Spa Director will monitor payroll and expenditures to successfully achieve the spa profit plan. They will review financial data, prepare management reports, and perform administrative functions accurately and timely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The General Manager may assign other duties.
Responsibilities include:
Spa Business Development & Financials
- Participate in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the business, including strategic planning, budgeting, and sales & marketing initiatives
- Contribute expertise to budget creation and ongoing financial review and analysis
- Guide business decisions by maintaining an awareness of spa industry trends
- Develop and grow retail sales through training, sales tools and financial analysis
- Control ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitability
- Develop procedures for accurate inventory control and monitoring
- Develop Spa’s Marketing Strategy and ensure a consistent image is being portrayed
- Maintain a strong menu of services with both exceptional artistic and aesthetic value
Team Management and Support
- Daily interaction with the entire Spa Team ensuring positive morale and work environment
- Weekly/ monthly meetings with Spa Operations Manager to set Spa goals
- Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa’s operation
- Schedule adjustments in the event of illness, staff shortages when required
- Progressive coaching of employees when required
- Performance of team member three-month performance review
- Complete six month and one-year evaluations, staff’s exit paperwork as required
- Assist with interview/hire
Lead Management
- Daily observation of operational areas in department, to ensure reputable standards are achieved and accelerated
- Weekly/ monthly meetings with Spa Operations Manager, Supervisors and Leads to set Spa goals
Operations
- Timesheet check, ADP/excel spreadsheet entry in absence of Spa Operations Manager Completion of payroll if required
- Morning completion of Management Checklist and break assignment when MOD
Guest Services
- Set an example of quality guest interaction at all times
- Follow up with guest comments
- Support to the team during guest issues
- Notify Spa Operations Manager of all service incidents for understanding and further follow-up
- Assisting in all other tasks and responsibilities as designated by the General Manager
- Attend industry events, seminars, and continued education to maintain knowledge and aptitude of current and future industry trends
- Maintain an average of 40 hours per week, flexible to complete tasks and provide team/business support
Compensation and Working Environment:
- up to $75,000.00 annual salary including bonus

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school Graduation required
- Customer Service & hospitality experience required
- First Aid/Health and Safety training an asset
- Minimum 3 years Business Management/Spa education required

- The employee must be bondable and provide a Criminal Record Check from the RCMP if requested.
