We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, SELF-MOTIVATED, and EAGER-TO-PLEASE individuals who have a love of animals and the outdoors. We go above and beyond for our clients and are looking for this in anyone new joining our team.
* This is a part-time position, for about 5-10 hours a week.
* It is for weekdays between approximately 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
* Walk dogs around another part time job, or your school schedule.
* We are only looking for someone who is interested in working for a minimum of six months (it's ok if your availability will change in September!) and who lives in Guelph. Traveling from a nearby town is not a good fit.
* Please include your AVAILABILITY and DOG HANDLING EXPERIENCE in your cover letter or send a message about it.
Priority will be given to applicants who have training experience or who have worked with a variety of types of dogs, and pay will reflect experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- be available for a 5-10 hours a week during the day time.
- have a reliable vehicle and a smartphone, taking the bus or biking is not an option.
- be willing to drive around Guelph to get to clients homes.
- have exceptional communication skills and be able to text / email clients after walks, send photos. Prompt communication with the office is essential.
- have excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- be physically able to walk dogs of all sizes, in all types of weather. We work outside, walking in the heat, rain, and snow, for multiple hours a day.
- be reliable, honest, and provide multiple references.
- have a current police check, or be willing to get one upon hire.
- have a sincere passion for, and significant knowledge of canines and canine behaviour.
- at least one year working with or volunteering with dogs. This means more than just owning a family dog.
