The City of Steinbach has an opening for a full-time Community Safety Officer. The successful applicants’ primary responsibility will be to work with the community to ensure compliance with a variety of City of Steinbach by-laws and regulations. This will be achieved by responding to incidents, informing and educating the public about applicable by-laws, and issuing citations when needed. The position requires a solution-oriented approach when responding to complaints, conducting investigations and completing administrative functions. Other responsibilities will include records maintenance, spring road weight restrictions enforcement, report preparation and general functions of the Community Safety office.
Qualifications:

Graduation from Grade 12 or GED equivalent
-
Demonstrated skills and experience in conflict resolution
-
2-3 years experience working in a related field
-
Above average communication, public relations and problem solving skills
-
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
-
Knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
The City offers a 40-hour work week with an excellent and comprehensive benefits package. A criminal record check and drivers abstract will be required as a condition of employment.
