Our Kelowna based client provides General Contracting services for Commercial and Residential multi-family construction projects across the Okanagan. They are currently looking to add a Project Manager to their team.
As the ideal candidate you will be in charge of leading projects by example while managing in-house personnel and subcontractors and communicate with the owners.
The organization will be relying on your expertise to ensure the projects stay on schedule and within budget while providing quality work in a safe working environment.
More specific duties and responsibilities include:

Review construction documents and site conditions to assess project costs and risks

Establish material lists and identify in-house labour to apply towards the project budget

Develop and identify project scopes of work and acquire quotes from subcontractors

Plan, organize and manage materials, equipment, in-house personnel and subcontractors

Meet project objectives, schedules, policies, procedures and performance standards in accordance with company objectives

Develop and maintain controls for: project schedule, cost, change order tracking, subcontractor management and job-site safety

Monitor and maintain the project schedule and provide input to stakeholders

Lead the project by example and keep resources focused

Manage labour, equipment, materials and sub-contractors to ensure all are on-site as required
The qualifications our client is looking for are:

3+ years minimum Project Management / Estimating experience

Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset
-
Post secondary industry related diplomas are considered an asset as well
From a personality point of view, the organization is looking for a Project Manager who has:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Ability to develop strong business relationships with co-workers, clients and service providers

An in-depth understanding of the construction industry from a general contractor's perspective

Strong computer skills including MS Office, Project and construction estimating software
