Job purpose
The purpose of this role is to fulfill a general labour position within the fabrication shop which will meet the supply and demand of Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group Inc. As outlined in this job description, the expectation is for the duties, responsibilities and qualifications to be efficiently performed and for this individual to contribute to the overall growth of the company
Duties and responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the shop helper include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Organizing paint booth for day to day paint jobs
- Loading and unloading parts in the paint booth
- Keeping track of paint inventory and letting supervisor know when we are getting low
- Keeping paint equipment in clean and working order
- Painting all fabrications as to the colors specified
- Work in a safe and organized manner
- Preform the job to the best of your ability at all times
- Report workplace hazards promptly to the Operations Manager
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- 5 yrs. experience in painting custom fabricated equipment
- Overhead crane experience
- Forklift experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Familiar with a wide variety of tasks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Drivers license required to get to and from work
Working conditions
Working conditions include:
- Fabrication shop environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team to accomplish projects
- Frequent noise
- Airborne particles (including, but not limited to) dust, debris, flame
- Sharp objects and debris
- Varying temperature changes
- Forklift operation
- Overhead crane operation
- Bright light/ flame
- Fast-paced shop environment, with frequent movement of materials and machinery
Work hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7am-4:30pm
Friday: 7am-3:30pm
Physical requirements
Physical requirements of this role include:
- Standing for long periods of time
- Frequent and repetitive movement
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools – electric and compressed air
- Excellent vision
